Homer

Located at the bottom tip of the Kenai Peninsula, Homer is one of our favorite destinations. The drive along the coast rivals the PCH in California. Across the Cook Inlet lies a magnificent mountain range, complete with four volcanoes. The largest and most immediate one is Mt. Redoubt; it last blew its top in 2009. Luke loves going to Homer on his bike, "because they have the best 'twisties' (roads with lots of turns) in Alaska". Once in Homer the world famous Katchemak Bay never disappoints. The curiosity of the Homer Spit, a three mile strip of land jutting out into the bay, makes it hard to look away.
